In Kapellen, near Antwerp, there is a large villa dating from the beginning of the last century.  The owner is a long-distance captain.  So he is often away for long periods of time.  His wife is looking for art and travels all over the world for this purpose.  She has her purchases, well packaged, sent to the villa.  So there is rarely anyone at home.

That's why they hired a housesitter, a young carpenter who is allowed to live in the house and who keeps an eye on everything.  He also makes furniture that fits into the whole, such as a man-sized bar.

I was given permission to take pictures there, undisturbed.  Sigrun Wellens was my model.  I took her from her home to Kapellen and back, by car. Sigrun says she is highly gifted.  I don't know about that,  but she is certainly very gifted in posing.

All photos with Sigrun are for my final photography exam.

In this photo, one of the judges asked : 'Why didn't you leave that light on in the background ?  It's such a dark, black spot.'  When I think about it now, I would have said that I wanted to draw attention to the young lady and that the black spot was only there to clarify the surroundings.  But at exams, I often find myself speechless.  Too bad !
